Hi, I'm Susan,

A writer and speaker who has spent a career thinking about people, culture, and what helps us thrive at work and in life.

My work today is shaped by a set of enduring questions: Who are we when the roles we’ve worked hard to build no longer fit? What happens to our sense of self when identity, belonging, or confidence is disrupted? These questions emerged for me through experiences of change that quietly but fundamentally reframed how I understood myself.

I now write and speak about identity, transition, and inclusion, with a particular focus on menopause as a cultural and workplace issue, not just a personal one. Increasingly, my work also explores self-esteem, belonging, and the relational experiences that shape how we come to see ourselves.

I spent more than two decades as a Chief People Officer in fast-growing organizations across biotech, healthcare, publishing, and finance. That work deepened my understanding of leadership and systems, revealing the complex interplay of organizational culture, people, and results.

I hold a PhD in Human and Organizational Systems, and my academic work explored how relationships shape self-esteem across the lifespan. I bring a deep curiosity and a lifelong learner’s mindset to everything I do.

Yoga and mindfulness ground both my life and my leadership, anchoring my work in compassion, presence, and resilience.

I share personal essays and reflections on identity, menopause, self-esteem, and reinvention on Substack. My book, ‘Paused, explores how we rebuild meaning when familiar roles fall away. It will be published in Spring 2026.

If you’re navigating your own season of change—professionally, personally, or quietly—I am glad you found your way here.
